In a skill development case, the Andhra Pradesh High Court grants Chandrababu Naidu a 4-week bail due to health concerns

The Andhra Pradesh High Court has granted interim bail to former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N. Chandrababu Naidu for four weeks on health grounds in the alleged skill development corporation scam. In this article, we will discuss the details of the case and the implications of the court's decision.

The High Court granted Naidu interim bail on medical grounds, asking him to surrender again on or before November 28. The court directed Naidu not to participate in any other activity except to seek treatment at a hospital. The court also directed Naidu not to use or talk on the phone, and not to participate in any political activity or speak to the media.

Naidu was arrested on September 9, 2023, in connection with the alleged skill development corporation scam and has been in judicial custody since then. His main bail petition has been posted for hearing on November 10, 2023.

The TDP chief's wife Bhuvaneswari and son Lokesh had raised concerns about his health, saying that the hot and humid conditions in Naidu's jail cell contributed to his overall deterioration of health and aggravation of a skin infection. In Naidu's absence, his wife Bhuvaneswari had started a bus yatra last week demanding justice. His son Lokesh Naidu also halted his hugely popular and successful Yuva Galam padayatra but said he would resume it shortly.

The Andhra Pradesh Skill Development Corporation scam is an alleged scam that took place during Naidu's tenure as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. The scam involves allegations of irregularities in awarding contracts for skill development programs. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) had registered a case against Naidu and others under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Preven

The TDP has called the case against Naidu politically motivated and accused the ruling YSR Congress Party of using state agencies to target opposition leaders. The YSR Congress Party has denied these allegations.

In conclusion, the Andhra Pradesh High Court's decision to grant interim bail to Chandrababu Naidu on health grounds is a significant development in the ongoing skill development corporation scam case. The court's decision comes after concerns were raised about Naidu's health by his family members. It remains to be seen how this decision will impact the ongoing investigation into the alleged scam.
